It is very important to make sure that your computer is up to date with the latest virus definitions as well as patches for your operating system and other programs. Being preventitive keeps you from having problems with viruses and other software exploits. The following links lead to places that help keep your computer defenses up to date.
Anti-Virus Updates Norton Anti-Virus To verify that your Norton Anti-Virus is up to date, open Norton Anti-Virus by double clicking the computer icon in your system tray. Near the top of the window that comes up, it should say "LiveUpdate." Click LiveUpdate, to run the program that will update your anti-virus definitions. McAfee VirusScan If you have McAfee, it is important to enter your sign-up information every time that it asks for it. This allows you to download your updated virus definitions, which will protect you from worms & trojans, as well as many other things lurking on the internet. |
