Well, I made it to Bangkok. The airport at Katmandu was awful. It took me over two hours to get through security and customs. It was such a relief to sit on the plane next to some Americans and have a familiar conversation.
Bangkok is pretty wild. A huge city of 10 million. The hotel I am staying in was probably nice 15 years ago. It needs a little help. The nice thing is that there is familiar food here. McD, KFC, TGI Fridays, Burger King, 7-11, AM/PM.
The red-light district is a real trip. Not my thing at all. I will describe it to you more when I get there.
The meteor shower is tonight, unfortunately I am in a huge city with many lights. It is at least a 1 hour drive to get to a dark place. Also, I would have to trust the people I was with.
I will go to the Airport at about 2:00pm tomorrow. I think we are 14 hours ahead of you here.
Can't wait to see you. This whole trip would have been better in your company.

I am leaving in a few hours for the airport. I am trying to find a book to read on the plane. Bangkok is a strange place to be on my own. I am not really into sightseeing tours especially when I am alone. I was not able to see the meteor shower last night because the sky here is so light and the air is very polluted.
It is very hot too. It does not coo down at night much. It hovers around 90 with 90% humidity. I like it and hate it at the same time.
Oh well, time to run. I can't figure out why you have not responded to me. Maybe I will give you a call.
